Fusobacteriota → Fusobacteriati – I think we should use the kingdom name instead of the phylum name. Jako96 (talk) 17:50, 2 April 2025 (UTC) — Relisting. – robertsky (talk) 03:02, 12 April 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose. If we use WP:MONOTYPICFAUNA and WP:MONOTYPICFLORA as a guide for naming articles on monotypic bacterial taxa, we first consider the common name in scientific publications along with other general WP naming conventions. If these determinations are inconclusive, we then use the name of the lowest ranked monotypic taxon. Google Scholar gives 3,560 hits for Fusobacteriales; 3,070 hits for Fusobacteriota; 1,400 for Fusobacteriia; and only 3 hits for Fusobacteriati. (Note that order Fusobacteriales contains three families and is therefore not monotypic.) Fusobacteriota is the clear common name and should therefore remain as the article title. --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 14:18, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
- For additional context on this discussion, see Talk:Thermotogae#Requested_move_1_April_2025 which resulted in keeping the common name (which is also the lowest ranked taxon in this case) and the as yet unresolved discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Tree_of_Life#Which_Taxon_Should_Be_The_Article_Name_In_Monotypy_Situations_for_Fungi,_Prokaryotes_and_Protista?. --MYCETEAE 🍄🟫—talk 14:20, 16 April 2025 (UTC)
