I'll do this, but I have some other commitments. It's been open for a while so I figured you won't mind if the review isn't completed until the weekend as a result. — ImaginesTigers 11:42, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Of course, take your time! DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 12:49, 24 July 2025 (UTC)
- Can we split up lead, please? It's a wall of text as is. Use the format we used in Episode 4778
- Plot is presented strangely. Can we provide the basic plot information first, then contextualise it (i.e. end of an era) after the plot is described?
- Tweak made here
- I agree with you reverting the page move. I think there is a strong case that these should be disambiguated with "(EastEnders)" though, although it doesn't form part of this review.
- As in last review, can we move away from calling them "spoilers" and say that the BBC revealed advance information of the plot in the first instance?
Digital Spy called this the "poignant moment" of the episode
they called it a poignant momentIn the storyline, Dot is clearing out her belongings in the launderette and finds a lost tape recording of Heather and Shirly's mixtape of Christmas songs that they made for Dot as a Christmas present, and Dot "clearly" becomes emotional when Heather plays Last Christmas by Wham!.
Couple of things here:
- I don't like the unattributed quote ("clearly"), especially with two sources for it. Does this need to be here?
- Can we rephrase the sentence to not end on double punctuation (e.g., Wham!'s "Last Christmas").
- Per MOS, song titles should be denoted by quotation marks and not italics (i.e., look at how Last Christmas formats it).
The episode also included the temporary exit storyline of Kellie Bright as Linda Carter, who had announced in May 2016 that she would be maternity leave.
Passed spot checkIn the episode, Linda is "distraught" when she finds out that her mother Elaine Peacock (Maria Friedman) has had a stroke in Spain and so she leaves to be with her, desperate to make sure that she is okay
Another unattributed quote. Don't think this is needed. Usually I would say the Mirror doesn't pass the "reliable source" muster required of GA but I think it's fine here for basic plot pointsIt had previously been teased that Linda would receive "devastating news" during the Christmas show
unattributed quote – I think most of these are unnecessary and can just be paraphrased. Can you do a sweep of the article to either attribute or paraphrase these?- Shouldn't put Digital Spy in italics because it's a website/company, not a newspaper (i.e., same reason you don't italicise BBC/BBC News).
- I can accept the Record and Mirror being used in the reception section as it's not controversial material. Associated content passed spot checks
That's all for now, thank you — ImaginesTigers 11:34, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
- Hey @ImaginesTigers: I think I have done everything. I am really sorry but I am confused about what is unclear about the plot - I wrote it in chronological order of what occurs in the episode and I tried to explain everything clearly and give context. I tried adding a few more clarifications but please let me know if anything is unclear DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 02:02, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- This is my bad, Danilo – I didn't mean the Plot section. I meant the plot summary in the lead (that's where the "end of an era" part comes before the plot). — ImaginesTigers 10:17, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- @ImaginesTigers Ohhh, I understand. I think I have fixed it now :) DaniloDaysOfOurLives (talk) 17:30, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
- Cool – passing now. — ImaginesTigers 17:51, 30 July 2025 (UTC)
