Style, Formatting, Editing

This article needs a lot of work to bring it in accordance with Wikipedia style. It contains fanciful and verbose language. It also would benefit from splitting into sections. In addition, the article doesn't embody a neutral point of view (many sentences imply the existence of the spiritual world, and value judgments are placed upon Bertholet's accomplishments).
