Sir Dennis Forman

[edit]

He also created the massive tome, A Night at the Opera, a magnificent reference book on every aspect of opera throughout the world. Although he left out important (to me) operas now performed in the international repertory (Russalka by Dvorak, Iris by Mascagni, etc) and omitted important musicians (Kathleen Battle, Thomas Hampson), it is extraordinary in breadth, scope and intelligent discourse, jammed with British humour and sly witticism. Pure joy! 2603:7000:D00:88B8:714B:DF18:1CFA:6249 (talk) 18:43, 9 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've added it to the list. --Viennese Waltz 06:01, 10 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
