Infobox etc

[edit]

@Paora: First, infoboxes are not required for every article. I think one is completely unnecessary for this very short article as it literally repeats information in the first three sentences of the lead. Second, how are his non-notable parents' names encyclopedic? We don't include information just because we can. Third, per WP:DOB, we can't rely on primary sources for dates of birth. voorts (talk/contributions) 12:26, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Also, even if we could use primary sources for the DOB (note that BLP applies to recently deceased people), when I search "1944/53727" at the exact link you provided, it only shows the names of his parents and year of birth, not his DOB. voorts (talk/contributions) 12:32, 11 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@Paora: any comment RE the infobox? voorts (talk/contributions) 00:49, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Looks fine to me! Paora (talk) 00:52, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a response to my perspective on the issue? voorts (talk/contributions) 00:59, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Per MOS:INFOBOXPURPOSE, "the less information that an infobox contains, the more effectively it serves its purpose, allowing readers to identify key facts at a glance". So it seems to me that the very concise nature of the infobox as it stands at present perfectly fulfils its intended function. Paora (talk) 01:19, 12 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
