I started this page as a stub, because a) the subject is notable due to haven taken over as FDNY Chief on 9/11, and b) there are news reports that Mayor de Blasio is planning to appoint him as New York City Fire Commissioner. (I didn't want to add that until the announcement was actually made, as opposed to just announcements that there might be an announcement.)
In any event, there is plenty of material that could be added to this page; Please feel free to do so. Thanks KConWiki (talk) 11:38, 9 May 2014 (UTC)
There was a source that said the appointment was pending on the 8th and and one said it was made on the 9th. So is he now Commissioner? or e.g. do we need advice and consent of city council? (a la federal cabinet) I guess it's complete but that's just a guess. I wish the sources said. --Jeremyb (talk) 21:33, 9 May 2014 (UTC)

Daniel A. Nigro → Daniel Nigro – Already a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT here, and most of the sourcing here refers to the subject without the initial, which would make it pass WP:COMMONNAME. Given that he is referred to this way in the majority of the sources, it should be moved to this title. JeffSpaceman (talk) 21:08, 10 January 2025 (UTC)
