Danaides?
[edit]This title is very odd. According to the Google ngram viewer, since about 1920, the form "Danaids" has been much more popular than "Danaides". I suggest the title be changed to "Danaids". But to do this, first the redirect page Danaids must be deleted. Kanjuzi (talk) 20:50, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
- Did you check the page history or the talk page archive? There was an extensive discussion about this exact topic in 2013, and it resulted in the present title. Not only is it the more traditional rendering, and the one most likely to be encountered in older references, but it's also the form used in numerous works of art and literature, through which readers are at least as likely to encounter the name as by reading about mythology. Alternative renderings already redirect here, so nobody is having difficulty finding the article. Is it really worth fighting over again? P Aculeius (talk) 21:27, 28 August 2023 (UTC)
