I'm sorry but hummus and falafel are not Israeli. If you don't believe me, research it 94.112.197.122 (talk) 23:25, 27 December 2024 (UTC)

Description of suggested change:
The "highest number of museums per capita" factoid is incorrect, unless the actual number in Israel is far higher than 200. With a population of around 10 million, 200 museums is approximately 20 per million population. A quick google search tells me that the US has 35,000 active museums as of 2014: [1]. With a population on the order of 350 million, that's approximately 100 museums per million population, or ~5x the per capita rate of Israel.
Diff:
− | + | Israel's museums, numbering over 200, draw millions of visitors annually. |

- Thanks. It's still there in the third paragraph of the article. Can you remove that one too? Wanderer V8 (talk) 22:14, 10 June 2025 (UTC)
First sentence
[edit]The first sentence pretends that the 80% Jewish population are deciding upon the general culture:
- The culture of Israel is closely associated with Jewish culture and rooted in the Jewish history of the diaspora and Zionist movement. It has also been influenced by Arab culture and the history and traditions of the Arab Israeli population and other ethnic minorities that live in Israel, among them Druze, Circassians, Armenians and others.
However, it would be wrong to not acknowledge, that the Jewish culture is not the Israeli culture. Hence, I would suggest something like:
- The culture of Israel reflects a dynamic melting pot shaped by waves of immigration from around the world, including early efforts to adopt and integrate aspects of native Palestinian culture. Over time, this has given rise to a range of overlapping cultures and subcultures—most prominently Jewish cultural traditions rooted in diaspora experiences and Zionism, but also including Arab, Druze, Circassian, Armenian, and other minority cultures that continue to shape Israel’s social and cultural identity.
What do you think? Saippuakauppias ⇄ 19:22, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
- The proposed text misrepresents the demographic and historical foundations of Israeli culture. Jewish culture is not merely one component among many; it constitutes the core cultural framework of the modern State of Israel. This article should reflect the primary cultural and historical forces that have shaped the country. The phrase “early efforts to adopt and integrate aspects of native Palestinian culture” is historically vague, potentially misleading, and carries a political undertone. Moreover, the influence of non-Jewish cultures is already addressed in the article where relevant. Plantbaseddiet (talk) 20:29, 22 July 2025 (UTC)
