- Comment: For the source for first hook, here is a quote from page 206 of Dawson, J.; Lucas, R. (2019). New Zealand's Native Trees. "This species was the basis for the generic name, copros meaning "dung" and osma meaning "smell" in Greek. When the leaves are crushed and when specimens are drying, a rotten-cabbage odour is given off, as naturalist Johann Forster found in his small cabin during Captain Cook's second voyage."
