This and the other buddhism christianity articles

[edit]

Neither of these pages actually talk about the similarities in any extensive way, probably because to do so would need a decent education in theology and buddhism; the articles repeatedly say "there are similarities" but never mention WHAT these are, one example could be that many interpretations of Original Sin are almost equivalent to buddhisms "worldly attachments" and thus their theory on the origin of suffering is equivalent. 90.247.227.132 (talk) 01:27, 13 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Very POV laden intro

[edit]

The article is titled "Comparison of Buddhism and Christianity". And while most of it is about just that, the intro is full of the author's passionate commentary about how "surface level and non-scholarly" any similarities are, and how the differences are "inherent and fundamental differences at the deepest levels", which isn't really needed and doesn't match Wikipedia's style at all. The "Irreconcilable foundations" section should just be renamed to "Differences" too. Obviously you can't be simultaneously Christian and Buddhist because there are irreconcilable differences (most readers already know that), but the intro is really overstating the differences and dismissing any similarities. 💖平沢唯を愛してる💖 (talk) 10:01, 9 February 2025 (UTC)[reply]
