Folders vs directories

Why would someone call this "boot folder" when Unixes has no such notion? Folders are desktop lingo from other operating systems, but it doesn't exist as a Unix filesystem object. And FHS most definitely doesn't call /boot (or any other directory) a "folder". So, if nobody objects or provides compelling evidence to the contrary, I'll rename the article accordingly. I must also check if some other Unix-like OSes use the directory or is this Linux-only thing. Arny (talk) 07:35, 19 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
