Notes

[edit]

I've made a major cleanup of this dab page. The previous version was very cluttered and not helpful as a navigational aid. Please keep any mention of things like Arab cuisine or Arab League out of a dab pages, since it's bound to attract even more "Arab XXX", which just serves to make the page less readable. I've also redirected Arabic to Arabic language (which shouldn't even be under that title at all), since "Arabic" as a noun can only refer to the language. The adjective form may vary slightly, but since we're not a dictionary, this really isn't relevant. Please correct user's misguided attempts to use these links instead of indulging them. That's what encyclopedias are for.

If you want to add links to Arab related articles, do so by linking through a "See also" section and keep it as short as possible. The best way would be to link to some sort of list containig list of Arab-related topics.

After some discussion at talk:Arabic, I realized the oddity of having a common dab page for such differing terms. There's a separate Arabia (disambiguation) now and I really recommend not to bunch somewhat loosely related terms in this manner. After all, we wouldn't keep a dab page that combined the terms German, Germanic and Germania.

Description of suggested change: There is no citation for Aräb said to be in Kyrgyzstan. I’ve done research, there is nothing. Please remove the dot point.

Diff:

Aräb, a town also known as [[Sülüktü]] in Batkan Region, Kyrgyzstan

Done. I don’t know what I was doing, sorry. HtialilwW (talk) 00:50, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@HtialilwW: do you mean that you also didn't know what you were doing when you wrote in the article about Sülüktü that "Aräb" is another name for it? It's either correct in both places or incorrect in both places. Largoplazo (talk) 01:44, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I thought that Aräb was an alternative name due to [[OpenStreetMap]]. It turns out I was mistaken and I am sorry about that. HtialilwW (talk) 01:55, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
@HtialilwW: OpenStreetMap is a site, like Wikipedia, that anyone can contribute to. It isn't a reliable source and can't be used as a source for Wikipedia content. Largoplazo (talk) 10:13, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the tips. HtialilwW (talk) 11:24, 29 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
