Hey @Plantdrew: I'm on the fence about officially marking this species as data deficient given that the IUCN has not officially named it as such. Does WikiProject A&R have a guideline on this? @Darkfrog24:, I don't think there are any WikiProject guidelines (for any group of organisms, not just A&R) regarding including IUCN status for taxa that aren't (yet) listed in the IUCN Redlist database. I have seen other Wikipedia articles where the IUCN status is sourced to the paper in which the species was first described.
But now that I'm looking at the paper where this species was described, I don't think the "Conservation status" section there is sufficient to formally designate it as DD. Plantdrew (talk) 23:48, 27 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
