This person actually works at the University of Saskatchewan per her Twitter bio, but that isn't mentioned anywhere in this article. Pkirvan (talk) 13:43, 14 May 2021 (UTC)

Significance?
[edit]I'm just wondering what the criteria used for notability is here.
The page is sparse. I suppose it's under this criteria:
Wikipedia:Notability (academics) - Wikipedia
Which one(s) is (are) claimed to have been met? EmaNyton (talk) 09:23, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- I guess the significant factor that raised her profile was her Covid-19 work in general and more specifically her [widely reported] caustic response to an egregiously unscientific article in The Lancet. See "what links here" at the side of the article for more.
- If you want to raise a formal challenge, see WP:Articles for deletion. 𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 10:36, 5 May 2025 (UTC)
- > "profile was her Covid-19 work in general"
- The highest profile Covid-19work I see is here: The Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market in Wuhan was the early epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic | Science and here: Genetic tracing of market wildlife and viruses at the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic: Cell
- In both cases, she's just a middle author and adjacent authors (Wertheim, Goldstein, Kraemer) also on those two papers don't have wikipedia pages.
- > "more specifically her [widely reported] caustic response to an egregiously unscientific article in The Lancet."
- I am not sure what you are referring to, "what links here" does have a link to the Lancet, but not a specific article. If this is a major reason for notability, shouldn't it be reflected in the article?
- > "If you want to raise a formal challenge"
- Not at the moment, I'm just curious and open to information and arguments. EmaNyton (talk) 09:01, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
- "What links here": I meant within Wikipedia. On the left hand side of every page, there is a column of links to useful resources. It is the first item in the section 'Tools'. And gives you this list.
- Also, at the top of the page, there is a tab called 'View history' and there you can find who first created the page and ask them: it was user:Webmz. But the bad news is that they haven't contributed anything since 2022. The history shows other significant contributors since then, who I hope are still watching the page and can comment. (I have never contributed, I just have a watch on the page because it was a vandalism target by conspiracy theorists.) --𝕁𝕄𝔽 (talk) 10:06, 6 May 2025 (UTC)

- Yes, I saw that list, I don't know which link in that list you are referring to regarding " her [widely reported] caustic response to an egregiously unscientific article in The Lancet."

- Well, that user profile makes it clear that they are out to increase representation of women in science. It also indicates a bias that may potentially lead to applying a lower standard. I note that the page was created before Angela had any papers in Cell, and just 1 in Science. EmaNyton (talk) 13:53, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
