Andy Hines → Andy Hines (futurist) – Now that we have an article about Andy Hines (director), a Grammy-nominated music video director whose debut narrative feature film is premiering at TIFF this fall, it's no longer clear that the futurist — whose notability claims are referenced almost entirely to his own writing metaverifying its own existence, rather than to WP:GNG-building coverage about him in reliable sources — would be highly meganotable enough to retain primary topic status.
To be clear, I'm proposing a dab page at the plain title rather than moving the filmmaker; it remains possible that the filmmaker may come to clearly outprimary the academic at some point in the future, but I'm not prepared to argue that he's already done so as of today. Note that since Andy is short for Andrew and I did have to search for instances of the filmmaker being referred to as Andrew instead of Andy when adding inbound wikilinks to his article, the dab page should probably also rope in motorcycle racer Andrew Hines, though I'm of two minds as to whether we should move him as well and place the dab page at Andrew, or just leave him alone, place the dab page at Andy and just include Andrew as a see-also — I don't, however, think that he's so highly meganotable either as to justify leaving him at his plain title but placing the dab page at "Andrew Hines (disambiguation)": the dab page should be either "Andy" or "Andrew" as a plain title. - Suppport, although I'd move Andrew Hines to Andrew Hines (motorcyclist), and create DAB at basename at Andrew Hines with Andy Hines as redirect since all the listed Andy's are short for Andrew.--Ortizesp (talk) 19:37, 23 July 2025 (UTC)
- Oppose Seems like a promotional primary topic grab. No clear evidence the director is notable or passes WP:NARTIST, since none of his music videos are individually notable. ᴢxᴄᴠʙɴᴍ (ᴛ) 19:18, 29 July 2025 (UTC)
- The director has been won (MTV) and/or been nominated for (Grammy, Juno, Prism) several highly meganotable awards that count as valid notability claims under NARTIST and WP:NFILM and WP:ANYBIO, so there is absolutely clear evidence that his notability is nailed to the wall. Further, the director's article is extremely well-sourced to solid WP:GNG-worthy referencing while the futurist's article isn't, so in fact the evidence for the notability of the director is far, far clearer than the evidence for the notability of the futurist.
Yet, despite that incontrovertible fact, I have not requested that the director get the plain title, which I would have to have done in order for this to be any sort of "grab" of anything. Bearcat (talk) 05:31, 1 August 2025 (UTC)

- Support per nomination. Since there are two men known as "Andy" and only one known as "Andrew", I would leave Andrew Hines as is, without a parenthetical qualifier, with the Andrew Hines link thus capable of being accessed directly, while a hatnote would direct users to the proposed Andy Hines disambiguation page where all three men would be listed. The dab page's lead line can state, "Andrew or Andy Hines may refer to:" —Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 16:18, 2 August 2025 (UTC)
