Proposed merge with Cold-fX

[edit]

I'm not sure why we need a separate article for this particular brand of ginseng extract. Examples of much more celebrated drug brands which have no article here and which are redirects to their respective active ingredient are Valium, Panadol and Nurofen. It seems like merging is an attempt by medical editors (not sure if you're a medical editor JLAN, but Doc James has been editing here) to get rid of a headache by foisting it off on plant editors. What is the purpose of the Cold-fX article? A place for the manufacturers to spam? If that's the case, delete it out right. A place to warn consumers about the product? The warning will be far more visible if it's kept as a stand alone article, rather than buried deep within this article.
I don't think it's appropriate to include any more content about Cold-fX than what is already in the article. I also don't think it would be appropriate to create redirects from other ginseng derived products to this article. Plantdrew (talk) 21:00, 8 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Canadian Ginseng

[edit]

Not sure why the link isn’t to North American Ginseng, anyway the trade began in Canada and in China, it’s marketed differently than US ginseng which is the same species but different in colour and taste. 38.150.99.27 (talk) 14:59, 13 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve attempted to create distinctive article for Canadian Ginseng. Indeed, Canadian compared to American Ginseng has a different value, color, and taste, and holds unique significance for Canada-China trade. I believe it deserves separate discussion. American ginseng is smaller in size, darker in color, with more wrinkles
Canadian ginseng is bigger compared to the same year roots in the market, light in color more whitish and yellowy, stronger odor and taste with a distinguishable sweet finish. 45.146.232.56 (talk) 07:27, 10 June 2025 (UTC)[reply]
