Al contacted Polio when he was sixteen
[edit]I am Al’s niece, one of his few remaining relatives. My mother Carol Alm was his sister. Al contracted Polio when he was sixteen and was even in an iron lung. He had to learn to walk and talk again after the ordeal. I truly think it made him the man he turned out to be knowing how precious life was. He was survived by his daughter Jessica Alm who unfortunately died of cancer around 2020 and his grandson Joey Alm who all never got to meet. I believe this illness was a huge part of shaping Al’s life. 2601:246:4D7F:6510:99EA:3263:5D16:B46F (talk) 02:36, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
