Even Georgian sources say that it is a dish of Georgian-Abkhazian origins
[edit]The notion of "Abkhazia" region of Georgia as a place of origin without the mention of Abkhazians as an ethnic group don't make sense, considering the long history of cohabitation among two ethnic groups in the region. Moreover, this relevance is shared by Kopeshavidze, a Georgian, in his "Abkhazian Cuisine" book. So is told by the official Georgian travel website, The word "Adjika" translates from abkhazian as "salt"
Therefore, I am changing to include Abkhazia until consensus is reached.

- Hello,
- Thank you for your input. I would like to clarify that the geographical indication of the product is registered on the regions of Abkhazia and Mingrelia, rather than on ethnographic, sub-ethnic, or ethnic groups. As such, it is appropriate and necessary to refer to the regions themselves rather than to the peoples inhabiting them. Erudite Veteran (talk) 11:19, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- I understan thatm but the wording before my edit made perceiption that it is prepared by Mingrelians and Georgians (in ethnic meaning), leaving out Abkhazians Athoremmes (talk) 14:50, 27 April 2025 (UTC)
- That's why i thought keeping the regions instead of ethnic groups in the text would be the better option. Completely taking out the ethnic groups but mentioning the regions instead. Erudite Veteran (talk) 16:59, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
- Ok, then you can revert it Athoremmes (talk) 18:31, 30 April 2025 (UTC)
