Notability
[edit]I added the Notability tag to the article per the recent AfD that closed as "No consensus". Please let me know if there are any concerns. K.e.coffman (talk) 02:34, 1 October 2017 (UTC)
-- Pretty safe to say you can now remove the Notability tag from this page. Adyen has just secured a strong relationship with eBay. dkar3, 31-Jan-2018 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dkar3 (talk • contribs) 01:22, 1 February 2018 (UTC)

Jesus, this whole fucking page reads like a goddamn ad. I don't know whose fault this is, but what a goddamn clusterfuck of an article. Anyway, eBay just talked about switching from PayPal to Adyen, causing $PYPL to crash 11% in after-hours trading. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/01/31/ebay-in-split-from-paypal-will-start-using-adyen.html Itsnotmyfault1 (talk) 01:27, 1 February 2018 (UTC)
-- There are big notability and sources reliability issues in this article... I'm removing the customer count which is not relevant to the subject and feels like an ad — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.71.204.178 (talk) 09:12, 10 February 2021 (UTC)
Does Adyen own Mollie (payment system)???
[edit]I just saw the CEO of Mollie (payment system) interviewed on CNBC. I thought Adyen owned Mollie, but I put "Mollie" into Wikipedia and no company or payment system comes up, and Adyen's Wikipedia entry does not mention Mollie. Perhaps Adyen does not have anything to do with Mollie???
- @Betathetapi545: According to [CNBC], they are competitors. Mollie should have its own article soon. (Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four keyboard tildes like this:

Adyen: Requesting Edits on Main Page
[edit]![]() | This edit request by an editor with a conflict of interest was declined. |
Hi all, due to a conflict of interest (employment at Adyen) I am unable to make the relevant edits to the main page. Therefore, we're requesting a neutral source to edit our page. Provided below are relevant sources and edits that are suggested:
1. Change first line to 'Adyen NV is a Dutch payments company headquartered in Amsterdam, Netherlands. It is a financial technology platform that allows businesses to accept e-commerce, mobile, and point-of-sale payments. It is listed as ADYEN N.V on the Euronext stock exchange.
2. Add content list for the page for instance:
Content List
- History
- Services
- Growth
- See also
- References
- Further reading
- External links
3. Add section 'Services'. You can find the products we offer on Adyen's website.
This could for instance include: Payment processing, enhancements and financial products.
4. The 'See Also' section could include related keywords linked. For example:
5. Further reading could include articles such as this one found on the Wall Street Journal
6. Any further changes you see fit to make the article more neutral in tone.
We really hope these edits can be made as we would want our page to comply with Wikipedia's standards.

Proposed updates for veracity

Hi editors,
I’m making this request as a representative working on behalf of Adyen. I’d like to propose two small factual updates to correct outdated information in the “History” section and align the infobox with current figures.
--- Hi editors,
I'm working on behalf of Adyen and would like to suggest some small updates to correct some outdated factual information in the article.
1. In the *History* section, the current line says: "Headquartered in Amsterdam, the company employs around 2,000 people in offices in twenty-three countries."
This is outdated. The latest shareholder report confirms the company employs over 4,300 people. Suggested update:
"Headquartered in Amsterdam, the company employs over 4,300 people in offices in twenty-three countries." → [Source 1](https://www.adyen.com/nl_NL/over-adyen/team) → [Source 2](https://investors.adyen.com/financials/h2-2024)
2. Also in the same paragraph, Pieter van der Does is now listed as *co-CEO* on Adyen’s official site. Suggested change:
"Adyen was founded in 2006 by Pieter van der Does, the current co-CEO, and Arnout Schuijff."
→ [Source](https://www.adyen.com/nl_NL/over-adyen/team)
3. Lastly, the employee count in the infobox (4,345) should match the updated number in the main text. Please update or confirm as needed.
These edits are intended purely to ensure factual accuracy and consistency. Thank you for your time and consideration!
Thanks in advance for reviewing! Lewis 2025 (talk) 10:11, 24 June 2025 (UTC)

The user below has a request that an edit be made to Adyen. That user has an actual or apparent conflict of interest.
The requested edits backlog is moderate. Please be patient. There are currently 139 requests waiting for review.
Please read the instructions for the parameters used by this template for accepting and declining them, and review the request below and make the edit if it is well sourced, neutral, and follows other Wikipedia guidelines and policies.- Hi @Likeanechointheforest,
- Thanks for the feedback. Would these updated sources from third-party outlets support the proposed factual edits better?
- ---
- 1. Employee count update**
- - Article: *"Payments group Adyen's shares surge on full-year profit beat"* (Reuters, Feb 13, 2025)
- - Quote: “Adyen employs over 4,300 people globally.”

- 2. Pieter van der Does' title update**

- Proposed changes:**
- - In the *History* section:
- > "Headquartered in Amsterdam, the company employs over 4,300 people in offices in twenty-three countries."
- (replacing the outdated “around 2,000” figure with the neutral, independently sourced figure).
- - Update Pieter’s title to “Co‑CEO” to reflect current role.
- - Align the infobox employee count with the updated figure (currently 4,345 as of 2024).
- ---
- Please feel free to let me know if additional independent sources are needed. Thanks again for your review!

- Hi @Likeanechointheforest — thank you so much for your help and for pushing the recent changes live! I really appreciate the clarity you've provided on the sourcing requirements, and your support in getting these edits through.
- I’d love to propose a new round of updates below, with reliable third-party sources included for each:
- 1. Side panel (infobox) – update "Key people":
- Could we please update the key people section to include the following?
- Key people: Pieter van der Does (Co-CEO and Co-Founder), Ingo Uytdehaage (Co-CEO), Piero Overmars (Chair of the Supervisory Board)
- Source: https://www.wsj.com/market-data/quotes/NL/ADYEN/company-people/executive-profile/118340240
- 2. Intro – updated description of Adyen’s role:
- Could we please revise the description in the lead to better reflect Adyen’s multifaceted services?
- "The financial technology platform acts as a payment gateway, an acquirer, a bank and a payment service provider."

- 3. New section request – Product advancements and innovation:
- Some content in the "History" section might be better suited for a new section focused on Adyen’s tech and product growth. Could we please create a new section titled "Product advancements and innovation" and move the following there?
- 'In the same year, it launched Adyen Issuing, a virtual and physical card-issuing business to complement payments services to merchants.'
- 'It launched mobile Android POS devices worldwide in the second half of the year.'
- This would also leave room to expand the section further in future with relevant innovations and product rollouts.
- 4. 'History' section – additions and updates:
- Could we please also add the following updates to the History section?
- "In 2021, Adyen obtained its US banking branch license. This license allows Adyen to expand its offerings to US merchants beyond payment processing and settlement, by enabling direct acceptance of funds and deposits on behalf of these merchants."
