Betaine HCL

[edit]

No evidence that betaine HCL is used to treat this disorder in any scientific literature. I am removing it. --Melissagmcewen (talk) 18:54, 3 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Prognosis etc

[edit]

Much of the ==Prognosis== section doesn't regard prognosis. As in this trimmed sentence regarding findings from animal studies:

Experiments have shown that non-Helicobacter bacteria can induce atrophic gastritis in achlorhydric mice, which in turn can cause gastric carcinoma.[1]

new information

[edit]

I will be adding some new information regarding the increase of risk from aging and some statistics that support the claim. I will also be adding a few more symptoms associated with Achlorhydria, and a common supplemental capsules as treatment that have been proven to relieve symptoms and improve digestion.

Page overhaul

[edit]

Overhauled a lot of the page, adding and replacing cites, changing lead and infobox, etc. I don't have time to handle the rest though so if someone could find some cites for the Diagnostics section and to replace the sketchy "Health Jade" citation, it would help the page a lot.
