Infobox and lead
[edit]- Do we not know where he died?
- If I had to guess I would say Omdurman, but it is amazing how limited are the sources about him. I did additional digging now with different combination of his name and death/died (in Arabic) and nothing came out of it. FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:35, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- I added the lrm template to the lifespan in the first sentence
- Thanks FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:35, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- "Following a family tragedy", specify what tragedy
- Fixed FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:35, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- Is there a link to "Gentlemen's Agreement"?
- No, but I think I will write it. I turned it into a redlink for now.FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:35, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Early life and education
[edit]- "She and Abdallah then settled in Al-Qatina and got married." does "got married" apply to Abdallah or his mother? In context I assume his mother. You should reword this
- he was a kid then and that part of the paragraph follows her, but I understand the confusion. Fixed the wording. FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:39, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Political career
[edit]- "in which Egypt decided to remain neutral", neutral in regards to what?
- rephrased FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- "His good relationship with Egypt" what made his relationship "good"?
- there was trust between him and Major General Muhammad Naguib according to the source
- "gave the green light" is too euphemistic
- fixed FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- The first paragraph of this sentence flows better if it went after second paragraph
- merged for better flow FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- "The agreement also dealt with Nile water", how?
- clarified that point to water management FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- "He built bridges" is also too euphemistic
- rephrased FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- "Abdallah and the National Umma Party played a role in resisting Ibrahim Abboud's rule", how and why?
- fixed with some context (as far as the source provide) FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- The Sovereignty Council section feels like if focuses more on the council rather than on Abdallah.
- I can barely find information about the council. I which I had something about him specifically thus I lumped him with the whole group FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:51, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
Personal life and death
[edit]- "A commemorative stamp was issued in his memory", do we know when? I can't tell if the 1977 on the stamp definitely means that's when it was issued
- I cannot even find the 1977? which corner is that? FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:54, 25 July 2025 (UTC)
- ok found it FuzzyMagma (talk) 19:58, 25 July 2025 (UTC)

- 2 – Is there not a better source that lists his year of birth?
No, but found more stamps with the same year of birth.
FuzzyMagma (talk) 17:42, 31 July 2025 (UTC)- Since the stamps would have been issued by a government body I think it's fine then.
- Since the stamps would have been issued by a government body I think it's fine then.
- 6 – mention 1:
; mention 2: Source confirms the events that occurred but makes no mention of this occurring on 19 October. It says Egypt approved on the 30th.
- 8 – Does not mention the Gentlemen's Agreement formalizing the Sudan Self-Government Statute
That time of Egypt moved really fast. In early 1952 Umma-dominated legislature negotiated the Self-Determination Agreement with Britain. By May 1952 it was sent to Farouk of Egypt who protested. A month later in July Farouk was toppled in coup and the leader of the coup, Major General Muhammad Naguib then signed the Gentlemen agreement in October, where Egypt supported Sudan independence. The Self-Government Statute was debated two days after the Gentlemen agreement and enacted on 20 January 1953. I have not included all of that but I included an additional source.

- 12 – Verified Mawlid massacre happening, but not how many were killed or that Abdallah and the National Umma Party opposed Ibrahim Abboud (used Google Translate)
removed the number. I do not remember from where I got it
FuzzyMagma (talk) 17:48, 31 July 2025 (UTC)- Still doesn't verify "Abdallah and the National Umma Party opposed Ibrahim Abboud's military rule due to its authoritarian nature and restrictions on civil liberties.", unless I missed it.
- 15 – This links to a university in Jakarta?
not sure what happened there but removed the source.

- @FuzzyMagma: Some sources, like Mideast Mirror and Sudan Notes and Records, + other short refs, could use some more complete formatting that give more information about the sources. You should also use Template:Rp to indicate page numbers inline since I had trouble looking in sources during my spot checks. PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 05:30, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- I have expanded sources citation and translated sources titles where needed. Since I am not using different pages from the same source, I did not use the rp template as I can include the number in the citation, which I have now done. FuzzyMagma (talk) 17:18, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
- @FuzzyMagma: All good, but still one thing for source 12 which has now become source 14 with your additions. PizzaKing13 (¡Hablame!) 🍕👑 21:21, 31 July 2025 (UTC)
