First label dedicated to world music?

The statement in the first paragraph is effectively unsourced (the reference is a dead link) and the statement itself is unlikely to be true. World-music labels existed back in the 1950s in the United States (Kinor and Request Records are two that come to mind). Does anyone have any sources that corroborate the article's claim?
