Favorite Video Game winner
[edit]It seems there are several sources saying different things regarding the 'Favorite Video Game' category. It appears that Nickelodeon's original publishing of the press release containing the winners list did not initially list a winner for the category, which is what likely led to these mixed results:
- Deadline Hollywood ([1]) - no winner listed
- The Hollywood Reporter ([2]) - Roblox
- Billboard ([3]) - Just Dance 2025 Edition
- Cision PR Newswire ([4] - republishing of original press release) - no winner listed
- Nickelodeon's Kids' Choice Awards press site ([5] - updated version of press release) - Roblox
- Nickelodeon's official Kids' Choice Awards website ([6]) - Roblox (when I had actually checked a few hour back, they actually did have Just Dance 2025 Edition listed as the winner)
For the time being, I've removed any winner altogether, so currently it is the only category not listing a winner. With all of this in mind, how should we go about handling this? Magitroopa (talk) 05:47, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'd say rely on the official website as it's the definitive, albeit primary, source for the winning results. The apparent mix-up may be due to the errors of the website update and initial press release. Anyway, has anyone seen the entire show live and thus can confirm the results? ❤︎PrincessPandaWiki (talk | contribs) 13:50, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- I'll update this article (as well as the FVG article) in just a little bit- Billboard article has updated to now say Roblox is the winner (Deadline Hollywood still doesn't list anything for the category). Also, just an FYI for future reference, watching the 'entire show live' doesn't matter much here, as typically, Nickelodeon has left out at least one award to be announced in the press release containing the winners. IIRC, a few years ago, there was around 3-4 categories that we did not know the winners of until the press release came out. Luckily this year, it appears that only the one category (FVG) was not announced anywhere in the broadcast. Magitroopa (talk) 16:05, 22 June 2025 (UTC)
- Update: I've updated both articles accordingly, so all should hopefully be good now. I've also just checked my livetweet thread from 2023 Kids' Choice Awards, and it appears that there were 10 winners (!) we didn't know until this article was put up after that year's show concluded.
