I think the electoral trends section needs some work. I'm not sure if their characterization of the early 2020s is accurate, and it's certainly not well sourced. The section also doesn't really talk about the wave of anti-incumbent sentiment that's been so widely discussed. CatoTheWiseAss (talk) 01:47, 23 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]

That is a good point. (Magnent)”Harold” (talk) 09:22, 29 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah right? Its bizarre on how 2024 was the biggest election year in history, while there are other years that do so. 205.155.225.249 (talk) 20:11, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Collage

[edit]
From top left, clockwise: COVID-19 became a global pandemic in 2020 and dominated the early part of the decade, as it was deemed an international public health emergency until 2023; A Ukrainian tank driving in the Donetsk region during the Russo-Ukrainian War; a U.S. plane carries passengers out of Afghanistan during the 2021 fall of Kabul at the end of the War in Afghanistan; Donald Trump becomes the 47th U.S. president in 2025 after winning a nonconsecutive second term in the 2024 United States presidential election; damage following an Israeli airstrike on Gaza City during the Gaza war; the Théâtre D'opéra Spatial, an AI-generated image authored by Midjourney, a generative artificial intelligence application. Significant advances in this field happened in the early 2020s, with services such as ChatGPT and DeepSeek being used by billions worldwide.

We're now more than halfway through the 2020s, and several significant events have happened. That being said, several editors have suggested that the article's collage needs improvement. Do you have any suggestions about the collage? GN22 (talk) 00:33, 8 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe include a better image of the Covid-19 pandemic, something like wearing masks, because the images of the viruses may not be familiar with audiences. Also, maybe add ChatGPT in somehow, as it caused a major stir in academia, and other subjects. TurtleFrog (talk) 20:14, 14 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
ChatGPT is already included in the collage's caption. Will change photo of viruses to photo related to face masks used during the early COVID-19 pandemic. GN22 (talk) 00:51, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Great! :) TurtleFrog (talk) 00:54, 18 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I don't see the problem with an image of the virus itself -- I'm pretty sure readers generally know what they look like. I wouldn't be opposed to an image portraying the social impacts of the pandemic (including masks) in principle -- but I don't think File:3M 1860 N952020.jpg, as a low-quality image of a mask on a table, is it. BappleBusiness[talk] 20:30, 18 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
I seriously don’t think Trump should be on this collage…. PhilIsTr (talk) 15:40, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah…this is a high-level article on the 2020s and should have a global perspective. What should we replace his picture with? GN22 (talk) 19:17, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Media in the 2020s

[edit]

Hey so I added more information regarding film and video games in the introduction. I looked at the topic and felt like it was important to add since we are over the halfway point through this decade, but there is definitely room for more elaboration, research, and additional information. I am not expecting to keep all that information on the article, but put it on there so we can look more into specific media that has defined this decade. That's also not including music, art, and other forms of public expression. Daisylover2005 (talk) 01:42, 26 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

I will always agree with you. 205.155.225.249 (talk) 19:44, 28 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]

Very long

[edit]

This article is too long to read and navigate comfortably. When the tag was added, its readable prose size was 20,000+ words. Consider splitting content into sub-article or condensing it. The article size impacts usability in multiple ways: Reader issues, such as attention span, readability, organization, information saturation, etc. (when articles are large). Total article size should be kept reasonably low, particularly for readers using slow internet connections or mobile devices or who have slow computer loading. Some large articles exist for topics that require depth and detail, but typically articles of such size are split into two or more smaller articles.

Should a decline of physical media be included in the 2020s article? 205.155.225.249 (talk) 18:50, 14 May 2025 (UTC)[reply]
