Tākina is a convention centre in Wellington, New Zealand.

Tākina took nearly three years to build. The convention centre was formally opened on 31 May 2023. The building was designed by Studio Pacific Architecture.[1] The cost of Tākina, including land cost, was NZ$180 million.[2]

The owner of Tākina is Wellington City Council. The council financed the construction costs and put Te Papa, which is located opposite Tākina, in charge of operating the centre. By late 2024, this setup came under review as Tākina was making a loss.[3] The outcome of the review was that marketing, communications and public relations would move from Te Papa to WellingtonNZ, which is the city council's tourism agency.[4]

Tākina won an award in the Public Architecture category in the 2024 Wellington Architecture Awards.[5] At the World-Architects 'Building of the Year' awards in February 2025, Tākina took second place.[6][7]
