Stankovany (Hungarian: Sztankován) is a village and municipality in Ružomberok District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia.
History
[edit]In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1322.
Geography
[edit]The municipality lies at an altitude of 649 metres (2,129 ft) and covers an area of 12.797 km2 (4.941 sq mi). It has a population of about 770 people.
