Solome Nakaweesi Kimbugwe

Solome Nakaweesi Kimbugwe is a Ugandan female human rights activist,[1] and women emancipation advocate in Ugandan communities.

Background and education

Nakaweesi-Kimbugwe was born to Sarah Naiga-Muwayira and late Gaster Muwayire-Nakana Kimbugwe. She holds a master's degree in development studies from the University of East Anglia, Norwich in UK and a bachelor's degree of social science from Makerere University in the year 1997.

She attained her secondary education from Trinity College Nabbingo and primary education from Uganda Martyrs Namugongo.[2]

Career

She started her career as an executive director at Akina Mama wa Afrika,[3] executive director of Uganda Women's Network[4] and chief executive officer of the Nabagereka Development Foundation.[5]

She also worked as a lecturer at Makerere University and Nkumba University and as a research supervisor at Noragric University.[6] and she is currently an international development consultant specializing in progressive social movement building.[7]
