Sima Mangolwane (born 25 June 2001) mononymously known as Seemah is a South African singer-songwriter, influencer, entrepreneur, content creator and podcaster.[1] She is best known for her pranks, fashion, beauty and comedic skits on YouTube and TikTok with millions of followers.[2] She made her debut song in 2023 namely "Industry" that went viral on social media.[3][4] She is the most popular social media content creator in South Africa as she won Emerging Social Media Personality of the Year award.[5] She is the founder of Seemygloss.[6]
Early life
[edit]Seemah was born on 25 June 2001, in Khayelitsha, Cape Town, South Africa. She relocated to Midrand, Johannesburg when she was seven years old.[7] She later adopted the name "Seemah" as her public persona.[8]
Career
[edit]Seemah began creating comedic and relatable TikTok videos in 2020, during the COVID-19 lockdown. Her humorous skits and spirited persona quickly gained traction surpassing over million followers.[9][10] She co-hosted the popular podcast Spreading Humour on Podcast and Chill with MacG.[11][12]
She bagan her music career in 2023, as she signed with Sony Music Africa record label.[13][14] She is versatile as she refer her music in 3 different genres such as amapiano, afro-pop, dance/electronic.[15] She released her first debut song "Industry" that went viral on social media TikTok.[16] She later featured on "Thando" with Master KG and Lowsheen marking her entry into mainstream South African music.[17] In 2024, she was featured in a single song with Mellow & Sleazy, Me Pilato, Scotts Maphuma and Yanda Woods. [18][19] She also released a song "Lomfana" with Tracy and Pushkin RSA.[20] By 2025, she released a single namely "Kamva Lami".[21]
Business ventures
[edit]In 2024, Seemah launched "See My Gloss" a personal lip-gloss brand, leveraging her digital reach.[22][23] Each gloss retails around R110, reflecting her strategy of combining brand partnership and personal branding.[24]
Personal life
[edit]Seemah is known for her relationship with YouTuber and rapper Khanya Ghost Hlubi.[25][26] They received media attention when he gifted her a Mercedes-Benz underscoring their public presence, but a pranked her.[27][28]
