Sara Murray OBE is a British entrepreneur and businesswoman who developed buddi ltd, a miniaturised tracking device for vulnerable people.[1][2] She was a member of the British Government’s Technology Strategy Board[3][4][5][6]

Sara was Chief Executive Officer of Big Technologies PLC, the parent company of Buddi Ltd, incorporated in 2017, which floated on the London AIM market in July 2021, raising £577 million. Sara was suspended as Chief Executive Officer at Big Technologies PLC, the company she founded, on Tuesday 18th March 2025, with the company stating it “could no longer rely” on a statement she had signed in relation to her connections with a network of “opaque” offshore shell companies.[7]

Having been sacked as a director of both Buddi Ltd and Big Technologies PLC on 31st March 2025,[8] Sara was referred to The Takeover Panel by Big over allegations that the company's founder “extracted significant sums” from the group via her undisclosed interests in offshore entities. Big alleged that Murray had “provided untrue information to the company and its lawyers”, and therefore the High Court, on her relationship with the offshore firms during litigation brought by former shareholders. [9]
