Samuel Amo Tobbin is a Ghanaian entrepreneur and philanthropist.[1][2] He is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tobinco Group of Companies, a conglomerate overseeing the operations of multiple businesses across different sectors, including pharmaceuticals, banking, healthcare, insurance, construction, media, and event management.[3][4]
Early life and education
[edit]Samuel Amo Tobbin was born in Accra Newtown, a suburb of Accra, the capital of Ghana, into a family of eight.[5] Coming from a poor background, he started working on the streets at a young age to support his family. After completing elementary school, he enrolled at the Royal Academy of Accountancy in Newtown, but due to financial difficulties, he was unable to complete his studies. He later ventured into the pharmaceutical business, distributing chemical products to local pharmacies.[5]
Career
[edit]In 1997, Tobbin opened his second business outlet in Kotobabi, following the success of his first store in Dansoman. As he sought to expand his business, he started importing pharmaceutical products from India. In January 2003, he officially registered Tobinco Pharmaceutical Limited. Over time, he diversified his business interests, expanding into banking, healthcare, education, construction, event management, insurance, and media.[6]

Personal life
[edit]Samuel Amo Tobbin is married to Mrs. Mercy Tobbin, and they have three children. He is a Christian and serves as an Elder of the Church of Pentecost.[7]
