Personal life and image
[edit]Sailorr grew up in Jacksonville, Florida. Her parents are immigrants of Vietnam and she has one sister.[2] In January 2025, Sailorr moved to Los Angeles for her career.[3]
Sailorr often wears black grills as a reference to the Southeast Asian teeth blackening custom.[4]
Musical career
[edit]Sailorr began releasing music in 2019 under the stage name Salior Goon inspired by the Sailor Moon franchise.[5][6] The name is also a reference to her Vietnamese family fleeing from war.[7] She began releasing music through SoundCloud.[8] She released a single "Persian Rugs" in 2021 at age 21.[9] She was listed as one of the 10 Jacksonville artists to watch in 2022 by the Jacksonville Music Experience.[10] She released another single, "Weathered", in December 2023.[11]
In November 2024, her first single under the stage name Sailorr was released. The single, "Pookie's Requiem", was later was remixed featuring Summer Walker.[3] The song was inspired by film Requiem for a Dream.[2] A second single, "Cut Up", was released February 13, 2025.[12] Billboard named her R&B Rookie of the Month in February 2025.[8]
She is signed to BuVision record label in 2025, in partnership with Atlantic Records.[13] She was signed after record executive Bu Thiam heard her song "W1LL U L13?".[2]
Her debut album, From Florida's Finest will be released on May 9, 2025, with 14 songs.[1]
