Riyadh Comedy Festival (Arabic: مهرجان الرياض للكوميديا) is an international comedy event scheduled to take place from September 26 to October 9, 2025, at Boulevard City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, featuring over 50 internationally acclaimed comedians.[1] The festival includes a variety of comedy styles such as stand-up, satire, sketch, and improvisation. It was first announced on July 23 2025 by Turki Al-Sheikh, chairman of the General Entertainment Authority.[2] The event is part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 strategy to develop the Kingdom as an entertainment destination and to position Riyadh as an emerging global center for entertainment by hosting the first comedy festival of its kind locally and internationally, aimed at supporting Riyadh’s role as a destination for international cultural and artistic events.[3]
Background
[edit]The Riyadh Comedy Festival, the largest event of its kind worldwide and the first hosted in Saudi Arabia, aims to position Riyadh as a hub for international cultural and artistic events by offering a daily schedule of comedy performances, workshops, and interactive activities designed for audiences of all ages, including families.[4]
