Rajnandini Paul (born 6 July 1999) is an Indian actress who works primarily in Bengali cinema and streaming productions. She made her screen debut in Uronchondi (2018) and has since appeared in Ek Je Chhilo Raja (2018), Asur (2020), Oh! Lovely (2023) and Chhaad (2024).[1][2]

On streaming, Paul earned critical attention for the social‑thriller series Sampurna (2022–23).[3] Her subsequent OTT projects include the Mahalaya special Mahishasuramardini (2024) and Puro Puri Eken Season 8 (2025).[4][5]

As of April 2025, Paul has three projects awaiting release: the ensemble drama Tahader Kotha (24 May 2025),[6] the adventure series Mr Kolketa,[7] and Ram Kamal Mukherjee’s slice‑of‑life film Lakshmikantapur Local, which entered post‑production in April 2025.[8] She is also attached to Mainak Bhaumik’s comic‑book adaptation Rappa Roy o Full Stop Dot Com.[9]

Early life and education

[edit]

Paul was born and raised in Kolkata.[10] The daughter of Odissi exponent and actor Indrani Dutta, she trained in classical dance forms before graduating in English literature from the University of Calcutta.[11]

Career

[edit]

Film

[edit]

Paul’s debut performance in Uronchondi (2018) was praised for its naturalism.[1] Cameos in Srijit Mukherji’s period drama Ek Je Chhilo Raja and Pavel’s art‑themed thriller Asur followed.[2][12] She then head‑lined Haranath Chakraborty’s comedy Oh! Lovely (2023) and played a young urban professional in Indrani Chakraborty’s Chhaad (2024).[13][14]

Web series and streaming

[edit]

Paul’s digital breakthrough came with Sampurna (2022–23) on Hoichoi.[15][3] She next portrayed Devi Durga in the OTT‑first Mahalaya special Mahishasuramardini (2024).[4] In January 2025 she joined the detective‑comedy franchise as Kathakali dancer Paramita in Puro Puri Eken Season 8.[5][16]

Scheduled for late‑2025 is the adventure mystery Mr Kolketa, in which she pairs opposite Ritwick Chakraborty.[7]

Media image

[edit]

Indian media often highlight Paul’s classical‑dance background and sartorial choices; Jagran English listed her sari blouses among “summer must‑haves”.[17] The Telegraph described her trajectory as “fearless and topical”, noting her preference for women‑centric subjects.[4]
