Prestbury is a census-designated place in Kane County, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census, the population was 1,657.[3] Prestbury first appeared as a census-designated place in the 2010 U.S. Census.[4]

According to the 2021 census gazetteer files, Prestbury has a total area of 0.66 square miles (1.71 km2), of which 0.63 square miles (1.63 km2) (or 94.70%) is land and 0.04 square miles (0.10 km2) (or 5.30%) is water.[5]

As of the 2020 census[8] there were 1,657 people, 698 households, and 530 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 2,506.81 inhabitants per square mile (967.88/km2). There were 741 housing units at an average density of 1,121.03 per square mile (432.83/km2). The racial makeup of the CDP was 89.08% White, 1.09% African American, 0.06% Native American, 0.84% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.03% from other races, and 7.91% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 7.24% of the population.

There were 698 households, out of which 30.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.78% were married couples living together, 4.15% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.07% were non-families. 19.91% of all households were made up of individuals, and 16.91% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.36 and the average family size was 2.83.

The CDP's age distribution consisted of 29.3% under the age of 18, 5.0% from 18 to 24, 21.4% from 25 to 44, 18.3% from 45 to 64, and 25.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 37.6 years. For every 100 females, there were 103.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.7 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP was $112,155, and the median income for a family was $135,625. Males had a median income of $135,699 versus $21,797 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $53,360. None of the population was below the poverty line.
