Pravanalini Bhandari (1909 – 1 January 1976) was an Indian revolutionary and nationalist from West Bengal. She took part actively as an Indian nationalist during the anti-British independence movement in the Indian subcontinent.
Birth and family
[edit]Pravanlini Bhandari was born in a Mahishya family to Hemchandra Halder and Mohini Devi in 1909 in the undivided 24 Parganas district. Mohini Devi, her mother, was a congress worker. Pravanalini married Charu Chandra Bhandari and joined Congress by her husband's ideals.[1]
Political career
[edit]Pravanlini Bhandari's family was a political family. In 1930, she participated in the 'Salt March to abolish the British salt laws. In 1932, she joined the Civil Disobedience Movement and was imprisoned for three months. In 1933, she was imprisoned for another three months. In 1942, she was imprisoned again for seven months for participating in the Quit India Movement [1]
Death
