Arthur Sheridan (born July 9, 1977— December 4, 2008), better known by his stage name Party Arty, Was an American rapper, song writer and battle rapper from Bronx, New York. He was affiliated with the Bronx, New York Hip Hop collective D.I.T.C, and a member of the rap duo Ghetto Dwellas.[1][2]
Life
[edit]Party Arty was a close affiliate of D.I.T.C, which is also known as "Diggin In The Crates". He appeared on many of the collective's music releases. Prominent members include Showbiz and AG, Lord Finesse, Fat Joe, Big L and Diamond D. Party Arty had a short lived music career, that saw him work with Hip Hop producers Madlib and Dj Premier. He also worked with Brooklyn rapper O.C, and a then-budding Jay-Z. XXL Magazine regarded his short lived career as "relatively successful".According to HipHopDX rapper 50 Cent once considered adding Party Arty to his G-Unit Hip Hop group.[3][4]
Death
[edit]Party Arty passed away at the age of 31 on December 4, 2008 of undisclosed heath complications. Hip-Hop media and news magazine AllHIPHOP reported that fellow D.I.T.C members Diamond D and Fat Joe were shocked by his passing, and had no idea that he was sick. Years after his death, a YouTube video of Arty engaged in a S.M.A.C.K DVD rap battle against the rapper Murda Mook brought back a resurgence of interest in the deceased rapper. His last appearance on a major release was on D.I.T.C's 2008 The Movement compilation album.[5][6]
