Olszewo [ɔlˈʂɛvɔ] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Olecko, within Olecko County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.[1]
It is located in Masuria.[2] It lies approximately 9 km (6 mi) north-west of Olecko and 129 km (80 mi) east of the regional capital Olsztyn.
History
[edit]The village was founded in 1563 by Mikołaj Lipiński.[2] It was historically known in Polish as Olszewo and Lipińskie.[2]
As of 1870, it was inhabited by 513 Poles and 123 Germans.[2]
