"Nuts" (stylized in all lowercase) is a single by American rapper Lil Peep featuring fellow American rapper Rainy Bear from his second mixtape, Live Forever. The song was re-released posthumously as a single on December 17, 2021 through AWAL due to sample clearance issues. The single saw a huge surge of popularity on platforms such as TikTok. It was written by Gustav along with Rainy Bear, Baron Black and the producer Millie G. A combination of emo rap and other subgenres, the song contains lyrics about love and drugs.
Background and sampling
[edit]The track was produced by Willie G.[5][3] "Nuts" samples "Bright Lights", from the Jesus Camp soundtrack by Force Theory. Due to sample clearance issues,[6] the song would later be re-released posthumously as a single on December 17, 2021,[2][4] through AWAL.[4] The single saw an increase in popularity on platforms such as TikTok.[6] Rainy Bear, previously known as Lil Skil[7] was featured in the credits.[8][a]

Commercical performance
[edit]"Nuts" broke several streaming records upon its re-release in 2021. In the United States, the song debuted at number 40 on the RMNZ Hot Singles.[10] It later gained 30,000 sales within its first two year of sales in the country,[11] and went gold in the United Kingdom with about 340 million streams.[12] With over 1.25 billion streams in the United States, it was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.[13]
