Nicolet Law is an American personal injury law firm headquartered in Hudson, Wisconsin. It was founded in 2007 by Russell Nicolet.
History
[edit]Nicolet Law was founded in 2007 by Russell Nicolet after his graduation from law school at William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota.[1][2] The firm has grown from a single-room office in Hudson, Wisconsin.[3] The firm has expanded and has offices in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North Dakota.[4][5] In December 2024, the firm moved to an expanded office in Milwaukee.[6][7]
Nicolet Law is known for its frequent use of billboards as part of its marketing strategy making Russell Nicolet a well-recognized face in the midwest.[5] A cartoon version of his bald head, sunglasses, and beard were featured on over 100 billboards in Minnesota in 2025.[8] The firm's first billboard went up in 2008 and Nicolet, known for his unconventional image for an attorney, became a regional celebrity.[1][5][9][10] The firm ran an ad in local markets during Super Bowl LIX featuring local comedian Charlie Berens.[11]
Legal rankings
[edit]Russell Nicolet was selected by the Wisconsin Law Journal's editorial staff to its "power list" of Wisconsin personal injury attorneys in 2023 and 2024 along with his brother Benjamin.[2][12][13][14] The firm was voted the best overall firm in Eau Clare.[4]
