The 2025 Miami mayoral election will be held on November 4, 2025. Incumbent mayor Francis Suarez is term-limited and cannot run for a third term. Miami has runoff elections if no candidates can get a majority of the vote. A runoff election will be held if necessary.[1]
Miami city commissioners originally agreed to change the election dates from odd-numbered to even-numbered years, citing voter turnout as a key factor. A lawsuit from one of the candidates was filed to challenge the decision with the presiding judge ruling it unconstitutional as it was performed without consent of the voters.[2][3]
