Plot
[edit]![]() | This article's plot summary may be too long or excessively detailed. (June 2025) |
18 year old Noah is moving from Florida to London with her mother to live with her rich new stepfather, and his son Nick. She says her goodbyes to her best friend Haley and her boyfriend Dan, gifting them her car. Noah isn't happy about the move, and isn't looking forward to meeting her new stepbrother, the "golden boy" Nick.
She meets William, her stepfather, and sees the grand house as well as her large bedroom. She sees Nick getting out of the pool from a window, and then her and her mother, Ella, speak about how the security system is excellent here and she will be safe. As she is looking through the fridge, she meets Nick, and the two of them immediately dislike one another and agree to stay away from each other.
The family attend an event where Noah learns that Nick has also made his own money through an app and isn't as spoiled as she thinks. He also spends time there with a girl named Anna. Nick then takes Noah home but leaves her on the pavement after they argue again, and she mentions his mother. Nick then sends his valet Zach to pick her up but Zach instead takes her to the party Nick is at. Noah watches him dance with multiple girls and throws a drink at him, irritating him. However, she is drugged from a spiked drink that she accepted and Nick saves her, before punching the guy who did it. As he takes her home, he notices an infinity tattoo that she has.
Nick continues to hang out with Anna, and Noah looks at both of their Instagrams, as well as looking through Nick's wardrobe and admiring a denim jacket he has out of curiosity. He catches her and looks amused. One day, Noah receives a picture showing Haley and Dan kissing. Upset, she makes Nick take her to wherever he is going to which ends up being a car racing event. She meets Jenna and displays her own car knowledge which is extensive due to her dad having taught her how to drive. She also meets Lion, Nick's best friend and Jenna's boyfriend. Jenna advises to either send a picture back or get messy.
Nick finds out about the picture and offers to kiss her and picture it so that they send it to Dan for revenge. They kiss, and Noah finds out about how Nick fights and races. Nick is meant to race with Ronnie, a dangerous man, as a bet but Noah gets into the car instead. She wins, despite Ronnie trying to sabotage her, but because Nick didn't race, the bet is void so Nick will have to fight Ronnie. Ronnie insults Noah, leading for Nick to push him, and an aggressive fight to begin. Noah has a panic attack.
At home, Noah apologises and talks about how she gets panic attacks due to violence, as well as the dark and small spaces. They nearly kiss again, and the next day Nick takes her to see Maddie. Noah finds out that Maddie is his sister, and that his mother is a recovered alcoholic who left Nick and William to get better. Nick is allowed to see Maddie as long as he avoids violence. Noah also finds out that Anna isn't Nick's girlfriend. Nick and his mother argue again about his fighting, and Nick and Noah kiss again before leaving.
Once back home, we find out that Ella has invited Dan over for a surprise visit, not knowing about the cheating. Dan recognises Nick from the photos and tries to win Noah back but Noah refuses and makes out with Nick again. Nick ends up paying Dan off to go back home, and also punches him, saying he would've paid even more but Dan is cheap.
Noah and Nick spend more time together, but Nick attends a fight with Ronnie. Noah leaves the fight due to the violence and how he won't be able to see Maddie. Nick notices and leaves, and Ronnie threatens him and takes his car. Nick and Noah kiss in a pool, and Nick takes Noah race car driving. As they're driving back, Ronnie attacks their car at a petrol station and they narrowly escape.
Lion asks Nick to fight Ronnie as they will be in danger otherwise, but Nick wants to keep his promise to Noah. However, when a man does not leave Noah alone at a bar, Nick punches him causing Noah to get angry and for the two to stop speaking. Later, at a party, Anna and her friends lock Noah up in a cupboard, angry about her time with Nick. Due to her traumatic past with her father who tried to kill her, Noah begins to have a panic attack and has flashbacks. Nick finds her and comforts her. Noah talks to Nick about her past, and they have sex.
One day, Lion gets attacked violently by Ronnie. Nick thinks it's about him not fighting with Ronnie, but his dad brings in a detective and we find out that the smashing of the car and the beating up of Lion is part of a bigger plan from Noah's dad. Ronnie is working with Noah's dad, who is out of jail, to find her again.
Ronnie and Noah's dad find her and kidnap her. They call Noah's family demanding a ransom. Nick, increasingly worried, realises that because Ronnie stole his car, he can find Noah who is tied up alone. Nick arrives and fights with Ronnie, but ends up getting stabbed before being able to knock him out. Noah is forced to drive away from him at gunpoint by her father, and despite being wounded, Nick follows her. A car chase scene occurs, and eventually Nick causes a car crash to force their car to stop, injuring him further. The police arrive as Noah's dad holds her at gunpoint, but Noah manages to escape and comforts a collapsing Nick, who falls unconscious.
6 weeks later, both Nick and Noah have recovered from their injuries and are happy together. William and Ella momentarily think about whether Noah and Nick might be in a romantic relationship but dismiss it. The movie ends with Noah and Nick kissing underwater.
