Mrs & Mr is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language romantic adult comedy film directed by Vanitha Vijayakumar (marking her directional debut) and produced by debutant Jovika Vijayakumar.[1] The film stars Vanitha Vijayakumar and Robert alongside including Kiran Rathod, Shakeela, Aarthi Ganeshkar, Srinivasan, Ambika, Sriman and Ganeshkar.[2] The film's music is composed by Srikanth Deva, with cinematography handled by Rajapandi T and editing done by Balaguru.[3]
Mrs & Mr is scheduled to be released worldwide in 4 July 2025 in standard and IMAX formats.[4][5]
Plot
[edit]The film revolves around a modern wife Vidhya Arun (Vanitha Vijayakumar) over 40 years-old grappling with the dilemma of whether to marry and have a child and exploring the societal pressures and personal conflicts that come with such decisions. And how will her husband Arun (Robert) support her through her thoughts and decisions.[6]

Production

[edit]In October 2024, Vanitha announced a post on her social media handles with her proposing to Robert, indicating the couple were planning to get married. However she later revealed the name of her film as Mrs and Mr and the post as an official poster for the film.[7] The film was the brainchild of actress Vanitha Vijayakumar and choreographer and actor Robert, who were keen to make a romantic adult comedy film together after their first film together MGR Sivaji Rajini Kamal in 2015. Vanitha chose to produce the film for an old production studio, Vanitha Film Production, launched by her parents, Vijayakumar and Manjula in the 1980s. It subsequently became the studio's fourth film following Nenjangal (1982), Kai Kodukkum Kai (1984) and MGR Sivaji Rajini Kamal (2015). Vanitha made her debut as director, and cast herself in the film's lead role. Jovika Vijayakumar who is the daughter of Vanitha chose to produce the film making her debut as a producer.[8] The film includes an ensemble cast including of Kiran Rathod (marking her comeback into the film industry after 9 years), Shakeela, Aarthi Ganeshkar, Srinivasan, Ambika, Sriman, Ganeshkar, Fathima Babu, Chef Damu and others in crucial roles.[9]
Filming
[edit]Mrs & Mr was filmed mainly filmed in Chennai and across Tamil Nadu, India with however some scenes and songs sequence shots were filmed in Dubai and Thailand.
Soundtrack
[edit]The soundtrack and score is composed by Srikanth Deva. The audio rights were acquired by Sony Music India.[citation needed]
