Michael (Mickey) Boodaei (Hebrew: מיכאל (מיקי) בודאי; born 1972) is an Israeli high tech entrepreneur and investor,[1] and the CEO of Transmit Security.[2] Boodaei was among creators of Trusteer, acquired by IBM in 2013 for $1 billion.[3][4]
Biography
[edit]Mickey Boodaei was born and raised in Ashdod, Israel, the only son of an Iranian-born Egged driver and a Lithuanian-born housewife. He lives in Givatayim with his wife and three daughters.
Education
[edit]He attended the Handasaim Herzliya High School near Tel Aviv University and later joined the IDF program Atuda unit through the academic reserve program. He holds a master's degree in computer engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology (1994) and an MBA from Ben-Gurion University.
Career
[edit]In 2002, Imperva, originally named WebCohort, was founded by Shlomo Kramer, Amichai Shulman and Mickey Boodaei.
He's made early investments in high tech startups, such as Aorato (now part of Microsoft), Hyperwise and Lacoon (now part of Check Point) and FireGlass (now part of Symantec Endpoint Protection).[5]
His software, Trusteer, advertised as an additional layer of security to anti-virus software, was acquired in September 2013 by IBM for $1 billion.[6][7]
Mickey Boodaei is the CEO of Transmit Security, which he created in 2014 following the acquiration of Trusteer.[8]
