Malczyce [malˈt͡ʂɨt͡sɛ] is a village in Środa Śląska County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship, in south-western Poland, situated on the south-west bank of the river Oder (Odra).[1] It is the seat of Gmina Malczyce. It lies approximately 11 km (7 mi) north-west of Środa Śląska, and 41 km (25 mi) west of the regional capital Wrocław.

History

During World War II, the Germans operated two forced labour subcamps of the Stalag VIII-C prisoner-of-war camp in the settlement.[2]
