Mahbubus Samad Chowdhury (Bengali: মাহবুবুস সামাদ চৌধুরী) is a Major General of the Bangladesh Army. He is the Director General (DG) of the Special Security Force (SSF).[1][2][3]
Career
[edit]Chowdhury currently holds the Director General (DG) of the Special Security Force (SSF), an elite unit responsible for providing physical security to the President, Prime Minister, and the Chief Adviser of Bangladesh, as well as other designated VVIPs. He assumed this role on August 20, 2024.
Mahbubus Samad is an officer from the 25th BMA Long Course and belongs to the Infantry Corps.
Prior to his current role, he has served in various capacities within the Bangladesh Army, both at home and abroad. Notably, he was also the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Golf Federation and Club Captain at Kurmitola Golf Club, reflecting his involvement in sports alongside his military career.[4]
