The Ma literature festival (Malayalam :മ ലിറ്ററേച്ചർ ഫെസ്റ്റിവൽ) is an annual literary festival held in Malappuram, Kerala, India, which began in 2024. The festival hosts authors, poets, artists, filmmakers, political leaders and scholars who participate in discussions, workshops, and book launches, focusing on literature and cultural dialogue.[1][2]
Overview
[edit]This is a literary festival that deeply touches on all aspects of Malappuram's history, literature and culture. It includes an exhibition of historical writings and local history collections to comprehensively explore the historical past of Malappuram.[3]
History
[edit]The festival was established in 2024 by Muslim Youth League[4] to promote literature. The first edition of the Ma literature festival was organized in 2024.[5]
2025 edition
[edit]The 2025 edition of the three-day festival celebrating the diverse culture of Malappuram through the Malappuram Literary and Cultural Festival titled 'M': Love- Legacy- Literature was held in Malappuram district from 30 January – 2 February.[6][7]
