MERA25 Hessen is the regional branch of the German political party MERA25, which is part of the pan-European political movement Democracy in Europe Movement 2025 (DiEM25). Founded by former Greek finance minister Yanis Varoufakis, MERA25 advocates for social, economic, and ecological reforms within both Germany and the European Union.[1]
Organization and structure
[edit]MERA25 Hessen operates within the national framework of MERA25 Germany, but maintains a degree of autonomy to focus on regional issues. Its organizational structure emphasizes grassroots activism and regional coordination.[2]
Hessen state election
[edit]In the 2023 Hessian state election, the party ran in the Frankfurt am Main V constituency and received 99 first votes.[3]

[edit]Since the state party conference in Frankfurt in August 2024, the state executive board has been made up of the following members:
