Lycée Mohammed VI d'Excellence (LM6E; Arabic: المدرسة الثانوية محمد السادس للتميز) is a merit-based boarding secondary school located in Benguerir, within the Marrakesh-Safi region of Morocco.
Established in 2015, the school operates as a public–private partnership between the Moroccan Ministry of Education and the OCP Foundation. It offers an integrated campus that combines secondary education, professional BTS programmes, and post‑secondary CPGE (Classes Préparatoires aux Grandes Écoles), preparing top-performing students for national and international engineering and business entrance exams.[1]
History
[edit]The school was established as part of an educational initiative led by the OCP Foundation. It is integrated within the educational ecosystem of the Benguerir Green City, which hosts other academic and research institutions like the University Mohammed VI Polytechnic. Since its inauguration in 2015, the school has admitted students through a selective process based on academic merit.[2][3]
Campus
[edit]The Lycée Mohammed VI d'Excellence campus includes educational facilities, student residences, and recreational spaces.[4]
Academics
[edit]The curriculum follows the national Moroccan education system, with additional elements that draw from international pedagogical practices. Instruction is primarily conducted in Arabic and French, while English plays an increasing role in scientific and technical subjects. Students prepare for the Moroccan baccalauréat, with particular attention given to scientific and technical fields. The academic program is designed to encourage critical thinking, innovation, and leadership.[5]
In addition to its high school program, the school hosts classe préparatoire aux grandes écoles (CPGE), post-secondary preparatory courses designed to prepare students for entrance examinations to leading engineering and business schools in Morocco and abroad.[4]
Partnerships
[edit]The Lycée maintains close collaborations with University Mohammed VI Polytechnic and other educational and research institutions, both in Morocco and internationally. These partnerships foster curriculum development, teacher training, and opportunities for academic exchange.[6]
