Ljubisa Bojić (born 1983) is a Serbian communication scientist and researcher. He is known for contributions to the study of artificial intelligence and its impact on society, including the proposal of a "CERN for AI"—a simulation-based framework for AI safety and alignment.[1][irrelevant citation] He holds research positions at the Institute for Philosophy and Social Theory, University of Belgrade,[2] and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence of Serbia.[citation needed] In 2025, Bojić joined the Complexity Science Hub, Vienna, as an external faculty member.[3]
Career and research
[edit]Bojić is the principal author of the "CERN for AI" concept, which was highlighted by the World Economic Forum[1] and referenced in a G7 policy brief on artificial intelligence governance in 2023.[4][dubious – discuss] He also researches the societal effects of recommender systems, the psychological and political implications of the metaverse,[5] and the evaluation of large language models.[6] Bojić served on the expert panel for the United Nations Environment Programme foresight report in 2024.[7]
Education
[edit]Bojić earned his doctorate from Lumière University Lyon 2 in 2014 (dissertation: Le processus de dépendance aux médias et ses implications sur la participation politique en Serbie).[8]
Recognition
[edit]Elements of Bojić's work, particularly the "CERN for AI" concept, have received acknowledgement[dubious – discuss] in international policy and academic circles.[1][4] He has contributed to global foresight efforts for major institutions such as the UNEP.[citation needed]
Editorial roles
[edit]Bojić is on the editorial board of Humanities & Social Sciences Communications (Springer Nature).[9] Since 2023, he has been a member of the UNEP Foresight Expert Panel.[10]
