This list of naval battles is a chronological list delineating important naval battles that have occurred throughout history, from the beginning of naval warfare with the Hittites in the 12th century BC to piracy off the coast of Somalia in the 21st century. If a battle has no commonly used name it is referred to as "Action of (date)" within the list below.

- 8 June – Attack on the RFA Sir Galahad and RFA Sir Tristam – British logistics ship RFA Sir Galahad is hit by three Argentine aerial bombs that destroyed the vessel. The hulk would later be scuttled via torpedoes by HMS Onyx on 21 June. The same-class vessel RFA Sir Tristam was seriously damaged but eventually returned to service after undergoing major repairs.
- 11–12 June – Battle of Two Sisters – British destroyer HMS Glamorgan is struck and damgaged by an Exocet missile fired from an Argentine land-base launcher while providing naval gunfire support to Royal Marines.
- 16 June – The coaster Transit sank in the Mediterranean Sea 8 nautical miles (15 km) off Tripoli, Lebanon after being torpedoed by an unnamed Israeli submarine.[11] She was carrying 56 refugees to Larnaca, Cyprus, 25 of whom were killed.[12]

- 15 July – In the Red Sea, the Panamaninan flagged tanker Bentley-I is unsuccessfully attacked by a Houthi sea drone before engaging in a gun battle with two Houthi manned fast attack craft, which are driven off.[30]
- 2 August – Sinking of the Rostov-na-Donu – Ukrainian drone and missile strikes on Sevastopol sink the Russian Kilo-class submarine, RFS Rostov-na-Donu, which was being repaired.
- 21 August – In Red Sea, the Greek flagged tanker Sounion was attacked and exchanged gunfire with two Houthi manned fast attack craft. The Sounion was then hit by three projectiles and set afire before being abandoned by its crew.[31]
